BRISTOL, Tenn./Va., Nov. 9, 2021 — ‘Tis the season to be jolly with an exciting holiday events schedule in Bristolthat extends well into the new year.
“Bristol is not only a great place to live, it’s also an exciting place to visit and experience the wonder and enchantment of the holidays,” said Christopher Perrin, marketing director for Discover Bristol. “There are tons of events taking place, from local Christmas traditions to music, theatre, ballet and comedy shows. Whether you’re shopping downtown or at The Pinnacle, or taking the family to a light show or parade, there’s something for everyone to enjoy, all winter long.”
Kick off the festivities on Nov. 12 at Bristol Motor Speedway with The Pinnacle Speedway in Lights powered by TVA, the most dazzling holiday light show in the entire region, now in its 25th season, along with the Tri-Cities Airport Ice Rink at Bristol Motor Speedway. Be sure to bring the kids to Santa’s Wonderland at Bass Pro Shops for a free photo with Santa from November until Christmas Eve (advance reservations required).
Must-sees for arts lovers include Theatre Bristol’s new musical revue, All Together Now!, Nov. 12 – 15, celebrating songs from such Broadway shows as Beauty and the Beast, Les Misérables, Rent, Mamma Mia! and many more, along with Bristol Ballet’s presentation of The Nutcracker, Dec. 10 – 11. Both shows will be performed at the Paramount Theater.
Historic Downtown Bristol celebrates the season with three annual traditions, starting with the Downtown Bristol Christmas Open House on Nov. 22, a customer appreciation night when merchants stay open late with special discounts and refreshments. The Bristol Christmas Tree Lighting will be held Nov. 29, followed by the Bristol Chamber of Commerce’s Christmas Parade on Dec. 2.
The Cameo Theater offers diverse entertainment throughout the holidays, starting on Dec. 4 with Grammy-nominated neo-traditional folk duo The Milk Carton Kids. On Jan. 14, Nashville-based alternate-country singer/songwriter Lilly Hiatt will perform selections from her just-released album, Lately, along with Walking Proof, released last year. Three decades after the release of his debut album, No Kinda Dancer, and 19 records later, roots musician and entertainer Robert Earl Keen brings his Feelin’ Good Again Tour to the Cameo on Jan. 26.
Mark your calendars for a star-studded lineup at the Paramount Theater, beginning with one of country music’s top vocal powerhouses, Sara Evans, on Dec. 5, followed by multi-platinum country music star Trace Adkins performing numerous hits along with selections from his 13th album, The Way I Wanna Go, on Dec. 18. Comedic legend Bill Engvall’s “Here’s Your Sign — It’s Finally Time Farewell Tour,” kicks off at the Paramount on Jan. 30, and country singer/songwriter Rodney Atkins, an East Tennessee native, will take the stage on Feb. 6 and perform new songs as well as numerous classics, including the number one song of the decade, “Watching You.”
