JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. – Mullican Flooring, a leading manufacturer of quality hardwood floors, has added two new engineered collections – 19 additional selections – to its growing roster of Made-in-America products.
The new collections – named Ponte Vedra and San Marco – are distinctive in the hardwood flooring industry for containing random six-foot planks. Mullican is the only U.S. flooring producer currently manufacturing planks of this length.
“Having access to longer planks during installation enhances the overall appearance of any finished hardwood floor,” says Brian Greenwell, Mullican’s vice president of sales and marketing. “Including six-foot planks is another way we are striving to bring consumers more value and to be more competitive in the marketplace.”
The new products also feature exceptionally wider widths – most up to seven inches.
In 2012, Mullican moved to larger headquarters in Johnson City, Tenn., where it launched state-of-the-art equipment for manufacturing engineered hardwood floors for the first time on U.S. soil. The company had previously offshored this segment of production to Asia. The two new engineered collections build on the company’s two existing Made-in-America engineered collections – LincolnShire and HillShire – which were introduced last year.
Mullican’s new Ponte Vedra Collection contains 10 products and is a prefinished, 3/8-inch-thick flooring available in oak, hickory, maple, cherry and walnut. The floors are smooth and feature wider widths – two in five-inch widths and eight in both five- and seven-inch widths. All products have the lifetime-warranted CLARITAGE® Extra finish by PPG Industries.
The San Marco Collection is a prefinished, 3/8-inch-thick hand-sculpted flooring that comes in nine colors, with selections available in oak, hickory, maple and walnut. All products come in both five- and seven-inch widths and carry the lifetime-warranted CLARITAGE® Extra finish by PPG Industries.
Notably, Mullican also manufactures hundreds of solid hardwood flooring products that are made in U.S. plants. The company operates three other manufacturing sites in Norton, Va.; Ronceverte, W.Va.; and Holland, N.Y.
One of the top five hardwood flooring producers in the nation, Mullican manufactures and sells its products via a network of 40 distributors and 5,000 retail stores across the United States and Canada.
