ABINGDON, Va. – Cornerstone Christian Academy (CCA), a classical, non-denominational Christian school located in Abingdon, Virginia, has named Dana Dando as its new head of school, following a nationwide search by the school’s board of directors.

Founded in 2011, CCA began with a small group of founding families and now serves students in junior kindergarten through 12th grade from throughout the region. Dando, one of the school’s founders, has helped shape Cornerstone’s mission from the beginning and brings a deep understanding of its history, culture and calling.

Over the years, Dando has served in several key leadership roles at Cornerstone, including head of school, principal and teacher. Most recently, she served as director of development, helping strengthen CCA’s relationships with families, donors and community supporters.

“Dana has helped shape the mission and culture of this school from the beginning,” said Emily Shields, CCA board chair. “She brings wisdom, experience and a steady commitment to classical Christian education. The board is confident she is the right leader to guide CCA into this next chapter.”

As CCA moves forward from its 15th year, Dando will lead the school as it continues serving families with a Christ-centered education.
