ABINGDON, Va. – Cornerstone Christian Academy (CCA) invites the community to a free seminar titled “Raising Sturdy Kids: An Evening With Keith McCurdy” on Thursday, March 6. The event will feature McCurdy, a national consultant and speaker.
Held at the Southwest Virginia Higher Education Center in Abingdon, the seminar will begin at 7 p.m. and include coffee and dessert. Attendees must reserve a free ticket by visiting www.cornerstoneabingdon.org.
For more than 30 years, McCurdy has worked with more than 20,000 individuals and families in the mental health field and has presented to businesses, churches and schools both within and beyond the realm of classical education. Currently, he is president and CEO of Total Life Counseling Inc. and leads workshops on improving parenting skills, building strong marriages and maintaining healthy relationships.
McCurdy’s primary focus is helping others better understand how a Christian worldview should influence parenting and relationships. A significant part of his work involves assisting parents in raising children who can meet life’s challenges with resilience and maturity.
“This is a great opportunity for parents, grandparents, youth pastors, teachers or anyone who works with children to join us as we gain key insights from Dr. McCurdy,” says Dana Dando, director of development for Cornerstone. “We believe this seminar will empower families to foster resilience and build stronger relationships.”
Founded in 2011 with 22 students, CCA has grown to an enrollment of approximately 220 students. The school’s mission is to provide an excellent classical and college preparatory education that teaches students how to think, learn and live consistently with Biblical principles acknowledging God as the foundation of all knowledge and truth.
Located in Abingdon, CCA is a classical, non-denominational Christian school serving students from junior kindergarten through 12th grade. Since 2016, CCA has been accredited by the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) for grades K-12. For more information about CCA, visit www.cornerstoneabingdon.org.
