BRISTOL, Tenn., Jan. 25, 2022 —U.S. News & World Report has named two King University degree programs as U.S. News Best Online Programs for 2022. King’s online Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) program was ranked number 113 in the nation, while the online Master of Business Administration (MBA) was ranked number 208 in the latest report, released today.

In addition, among Tennessee schools, King ranked second for its online MSN program and sixth for its online MBA program.

“Our consistent focus is to provide high-quality degree programs in a private university environment, at a cost that’s similar to public options,” said Matt Roberts, Ed.D., provost of King. “Our graduate-level programs supply the flexibility and expertise needed for students to pursue their calling and become leaders in their fields, while also balancing work and home lives. This is made possible through the personalized attention and guidance provided by our faculty and staff, and we’re delighted that our efforts are being recognized in this way.”

For the 2022 edition, U.S. News assessed 1,728 online degree programs and ranked 1,646. The publication based its online graduate program rankings on statistical data provided by the participating institutions and by peer assessment. Researchers looked at several factors in determining the rankings, including engagement, faculty credentials and training, expert opinion, student excellence, and services and technology offerings.

King’s online MSN program is designed for working nurses who wish to advance their careers. The program offers three concentrations of study: nurse educator, nurse administrator, and pediatric nurse practitioner.

Master’s programs in business administration are one of the most popular graduate business degree programs in the United States. King’s online MBA program offers three concentrations: healthcare administration, management, and project management.

U.S. News is the only publication to comprehensively evaluate online degrees at the program level rather than the school level. Only degree-granting programs that are offered primarily online by regionally accredited institutions are considered. A complete listing of the 2022 rankings can be found here.
