Event Benefits the 20th Annual Johnia Berry Toy Drive

BRISTOL, Tenn. (July 18, 2024) — Get into the holiday spirit early this year with Christmas in July, a block party benefiting the 20th Annual Johnia Berry Toy Drive.

On Thursday, July 25, from 4-6 p.m., the community is invited to bring a new, unwrapped toy to 1203 Edgemont Ave., Bristol, Tennessee, to donate to disadvantaged children living in Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia.

Sponsored by the Bristol TN/VA Association of REALTORS® and Bristol Tennessee City Schools, the event will also feature several food trucks.

The Johnia Berry Toy Drive is held each year in memory of Berry to pay tribute to her kindness and generosity. Berry tragically had her life taken during an apartment robbery in December 2004. The case led to the “The Johnia Berry Act 2007,” which requires a person arrested for a violent felony to provide a biological specimen for DNA analysis.
