BRISTOL, Va. (June 27, 2023) – Christman Southeast Constructors is expanding its impressive portfolio with a new endeavor — crafting the foundation walls and concrete slabs that will support the highly anticipated Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Bristol.
Knoxville’s Christman Southeast Constructors — a division of Christman Mid-Atlantic Constructors — is assisting BurWil Construction Company (Bristol, Tennessee) and TN Ward Company (Ardmore, Pennsylvania) with the work at Virginia’s first casino.
“The expertise of Christman Southeast Constructors has been invaluable to the construction of the hotel and casino,” said President Allie Evangelista of Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Bristol. “They have consistently demonstrated a high level of professionalism, skill and dedication throughout this process.”
Expected to open in summer 2024, the future Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Bristol is being constructed on the site of the former Bristol Mall. The temporary ‘Bristol Casino – Future Home of Hard Rock’ is operating in a section of the former shopping center throughout the ongoing construction.
“We are proud to be part of this project in Bristol,” said Shannon Looney, P.E., Christman Southeast Constructors’ senior project manager. “I grew up in Grundy, Virginia, and the Bristol Mall held a special significance for me. As a kid, this is where my family would go to shop and experience the vibrant atmosphere of the community.”
Looney, a 1990 King University (Bristol, Tennessee) graduate, has more than 30 years of experience in construction and recognizes the transformative potential of the casino for the region.
“The Bristol Casino is bringing new life into the area and will help drive positive change,” Looney said.
