ABINGDON, Va. – Cornerstone Christian Academy (CCA) is gearing up for the 2023 spring season by hosting its 12th annual spring auction, giving the Abingdon-based private school an opportunity to raise proceeds in support of its Scholarship Fund.
This year’s free event, themed “Boots & Bowties,” is scheduled for Friday, March 10, beginning at 5:30 p.m. at the Southwest Virginia Higher Education Center in Abingdon. Featuring a chili cook-off, games and activities for children, and a performance by CCA’s drama team, the event will include live and silent auctions with items ranging from weekend and vacation getaways to original artwork from local artists, tickets to sporting events and regional attractions, gift baskets and more.
Auction proceeds will enable CCA to continue providing a Christ-centered classical education and offer need-based scholarships to students throughout the region. For the 2022-23 academic year, CCA’s Scholarship Fund distributed $100,000, which was sufficient to provide financial assistance to 48 students.
Admission to Boots & Bowties is free, but CCA requests that attendees acquire a ticket to help accommodate planning needs. Visit www.cornerstoneabingdon.org or call (276) 623-7164 to obtain tickets or additional information.
Founded in 2011 with 22 students, CCA has grown to an enrollment of nearly 230 students. CCA’s mission is to prepare students to go into the world equipped to make a difference and fulfill God’s calling for their lives by thinking creatively, reasoning logically and writing persuasively. CCA also offers a variety of fine arts courses and electives, and a robust athletics program that includes volleyball, basketball, baseball, swimming, golf and cross country.
Located in Abingdon, CCA is a classical, non-denominational Christian school serving students in junior kindergarten through 12th grade.
