to purchase advertising services at a fraction of the cost

Abingdon, Va. — The American Advertising Federation Southwest Virginia (AAF SWVA) chapter will host the fourth annual Media Auction from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, June 14, at The Market in Abingdon, Virginia.

The AAF SWVA Media Auction is the only fundraiser in the Tri-Cities solely focused on media and advertising industry-related services. The event provides local and regional creative media outlets the opportunity to donate their services through a live auction platform, and offers businesses, media buyers and nonprofits the opportunity to bid on a variety of print, online, radio, display, interactive and design services at nearly 50 percent off their normal cost.

“This event allows marketing and advertising agencies throughout the Tri-Cities to donate their services, establish relationships with new clients and prove just how effective their media services can be for business development,” says Dana Wolfe Foley, chairman of the Board of Directors for AAF SWVA. “It is also a wonderful opportunity for bidders to explore new methods of advertising to reach their target audience without making a large investment.”

Admission to the event is free-of-charge and open to the public. The doors will open at 6 p.m., and the auction will begin at 6:45 p.m. Heavy hors d’oeuvres will be provided. The Market is located at 1220 West Main Street, Abingdon. Absentee bidding is available for participants who are unable to attend the live auction. Participants are encouraged to visit www.facebook.com/aafswva or https://tinyurl.com/aafswva-media-auction for more information, or to register or bid on media services.

Proceeds from the Media Auction will support AAF SWVA’s mission to represent the advertising voices of Southwest Virginia through professional development opportunities, educational outreach, public service initiatives, scholarships for local and regional students, and recognition opportunities, including the annual AAF SWVA ADDY Awards program.
