ABINGDON, Va. — As part of its 65th anniversary this year, Farris Funeral Service & Crematory will host the second installment of the Farris Funeral Service Learning Series at noon on Monday, June 26, at the Forest Hills Chapel, located at 19415 Lee Highway in Abingdon, Virginia.

The staff of Abingdon-based Farris Funeral Service & Crematory will honor veterans with an appreciation luncheon, and offer information on veterans services, honors and benefits.

“We are proud to honor our country’s veterans, and give back to those whose dedication and selfless service define our great nation,” says Kim Farris-Luke, president and owner of Farris Funeral Service & Crematory. “This seminar allows individuals the opportunity to voice any questions they may have about applying for a military funeral, including the various types of veteran honors and benefits that are available for their loved ones.”

Admission to the June 26 event is free of charge and open to the public. Lunch will be provided. For more information or to RSVP for lunch, call (276) 623-2700.

The Farris Funeral Service Learning Series will be held on a quarterly basis throughout 2017. The next event is scheduled to be held in September.
